How to Lace Laces

Lacing your new sneakers may seem intimidating, but it is not hard. Using a common lacing technique will allow the laces to cross over each other in a neat pattern. Teaching kids to lace shoes can be hard too, but if they have clear instructions and can watch someone else do it, they can pick it up in no time.

Instructions

Thread the laces. Pull each end of the lace through one of the eyelets at the bottom of the shoe, from the underside. Pull the ends up straight and adjust them to the same length.

Cross each end underneath and over an eyelet, feeding each lace through every other eyelet so the laces neatly cross each other to form a crisscross pattern over the top of the laces.

Tie the laces into a neat bow once you get to the top. The laces should look perfectly crossed over each other, and be comfortable when you slip the shoe on. Loosen the laces for comfort if needed.
