How to Repair a Slingback

Slingback shoes are appropriate for work or for dinner. They come in peep-toe, pointy-toe or sandal style. You can wear them with a low heel or high heel. Unfortunately, slingbacks can be uncomfortable to wear since the straps often fall down. Not only is it frustrating, but also it can be dangerous to wear. You can find a few quick ways to repair the shoes yourself. If all else fails, then you should take your shoes to a repair shop.

Instructions

    1

Purchase shoe inserts at your nearest shoe or fashion retailer. Choose inserts that prevent feet from sliding forward, which prevent the straps from sliding down. Place the inserts where the balls of your feet are.

    2

Use double-sided tape along the side of the straps. The other side should touch your heels. Stick the tape to the inside of the strap. Cut off any excess with scissors.

    3

Use a rubber strap insert specifically made for slingback shoes. These straps are self-adhesive, as you place them on the inside of the strap. It should provide a firm grip to your heels.

    4

Take your shoes to a shoe repair shop. Ask the person to shorten the straps or to have more holes inserted if they have buckles.
