How to Get Fingernail Polish Off of Fuzzy Boots

Fuzzy boots are generally made from suede leather, which gives them a distinctive rough texture. This leather is difficult to maintain and must be treated with care so that the boots last longer. As suede is not water-resistant, you must use a minimum quantity of water to clean these boots. In the event that you stain your boots with fingernail polish, spot treat them to effectively remove the stain and prevent damage to the rest of the boots.

Instructions

    1

Gently scrape the fingernail polish on the boots with a blunt knife, suede brush or spatula. By doing this, you will remove any loose and dried particles of fingernail polish from the boots.

    2

Create a soap solution by combining a little mild soap with some lukewarm water in a bowl. Run your hand through the water to make it sudsy. Use a sponge to apply just the suds on the fingernail polish stain to wash it away. Wipe the area dry with a clean cotton cloth to remove excess moisture.

    3

Use an art gum eraser on the fingernail polish if the stain has dried and is difficult to remove. Gently rub the eraser all over the fingernail polish to remove the stain.

    4

Carefully rub an emery board or fine-grade sandpaper on the fingernail polish. This sanding process will get rid of a thin top layer of the boots, as well as the fingernail polish.
