How to Attach Rhinestones to Shoes

When you're scrambling to find the perfect pair of sparkly shoes for a party or a wedding, don't discount making your own. There's nothing more satisfying than taking a great pair of very simple shoes and embellishing them with rhinestones. Instantly the shoe goes from drab to fab! And you get exactly the color and amount of sparkle you were looking for.

Instructions

Draw the desired design on the shoes using a marker. If you are less sure of yourself artistically, use chalk.

Following the design, draw a small line of glue with the glue gun. Only cover a very small area with glue, because it tends to dry quickly and it is time consuming attaching rhinestones.

Pick up each rhinestone with tweezers and attach to an area that has glue. Don't be tempted to use your fingers -- hot glue burns are no fun.

Follow the line of the design, attaching rhinestones and alternately gluing with the glue gun.

Allow the shoes to dry overnight in a cool, dry place. Shake the shoes gently to ensure all the rhinestones are attached firmly to the shoes.
