How to Make Flip-Flop Clips From Ribbons

Turn a plain pair of inexpensive flip-flops into a fashion statement by adding a ribbon clip. A trip to your favorite craft store will turn up all of the supplies you need to make your feet look lovely this summer. Make a variety of bows and attach them to alligator clips to change your flip-flops with your mood. Try a pink polka-dot bow for casual days or a rhinestone-studded black satin ribbon to dress things up.

Instructions

Plug in the hot glue gun, set it on its stand and insert a glue stick.

Cut 12 inches of ribbon with scissors. Fold the ribbon in half.

Overlap the two ends of the folded ribbon one-third of the way beneath the fold.

Overlap the ends of the ribbon one-half inch from the end.

Add a drop of hot glue to ribbon between the two overlapped ends. Press them together to join.

Insert the crossed ends through the top loop. The ends should be one-half inch below the loop; the rest of the ribbon should be above the loop.

Add a drop of hot glue to the folded upper edge where the ribbon meets. Press together to make a bow with four loops.

Cut a small piece of ribbon long enough to go around the center of the bow. Wrap it around and secure it on the back of the bow with a drop of hot glue.

Apply a line of glue to the top side of an alligator clip.

Press the bow onto the line of glue to complete your flip-flop clip.
