How to Remove the Buckle on Keens

Keens makes high quality leather footwear for men and women. Its shoes -- for instance, its sandals and tennis shoes -- are geared more toward casual use. Some of its styles, such as the Bern Mary Jane, have removable buckle straps. The straps are held in place via loops in the shoe's upper soles and slide free once unbuckled.

Instructions

Lift up and pull backwards on the end of the shoe strap.

Slide the buckle tongue out of the hole, securing it in the leather shoe strap.

Push the tongue backward and out of the way.

Push the end of the leather strap down through the center of the buckle frame. This unbuckles the strap. Pull the end of the strap and the buckle away from each other.

Grasp the side of the strap with the buckle and pull gently. This will pull the strap free of the loops holding it onto the shoe.

Set strap aside for later use.
