How to Repair a Broken Shoe Heel

It always happens at the worst possible time. You're running late for a meeting, walking a bit too fast and the next thing you know, the heel twists off your shoe. What happens is that the heel cap on the base of the heel loses traction and rips away from the shoe, causing the heel to break. Fortunately, most of the time the shoe is still fixable, and it only takes a few basic tools to get the job done.

Instructions

    1

Flip the shoe upside down so the heel is pointing up. Pull out the metal pin in the tip of the heel using a pair of pliers.

    2

Set the replacement heel tip on the end of the heel, then align the metal pin through the heel tip and into the heel.

    3

Strike the metal pin with a hammer while holding the heel tip aligned correctly, and stop striking when the pin is driven in all the way.
