How to Make the Soles of Boots Not Slippery

Beauty and fashion are not always comfortable. Ask any woman in a pair of 5-inch stilettos or boots if she's comfortable and the answer is most likely, "No." While you may not find your boots comfortable to wear you can make them safer by ensuring the soles are not slippery. A slippery sole is dangerous when you are walking around; you could trip or slide over any flat surface and potentially injure yourself or cause yourself undue embarrassment.

Instructions

Sand the bottom of your shoes with sandpaper. This removes the slippery bottom of the soles by scuffing them up a bit and making them more resilient on smooth flooring.

Take your boots to a shoe repair shop and have grips placed on the bottom of them; this is more expensive than sanding them down yourself but just as effective.

Cut shallow lines on the bottom of your shoes with a knife. This makes the soles less slippery because the soles will catch on the shallow cuts before you have time to slip or slide on the ground.
