How to Fix Faux Leather Shoe Discoloration

Regular care of your faux leather shoes will help prevent staining and discoloration, but if you do find yourself with discolored spots there are a few basic steps you can take to restore your shoes to their original glory. Faux leather is a man-made textile that has the look and feel of real leather but without the price tag or the use of animal products. Instructions

Dissolve a few drops of a mild all-purpose or dish soap in a small bowl of water.

Wet a soft cloth with the soapy water. Squeeze to remove the excess water.

Wipe the shoes with the cloth, one section at a time, focusing on discolored areas.

Wipe each section dry as you finish it before moving on. Do not soak the shoes.

Condition shoes all over with a faux leather conditioner. This will help maintain the texture and provide a barrier for future stains.

Dip the edge of a sponge in dye that matches the color of your shoes. If a spot still remains, dab the sponge in a circular pattern over the spot. Add more as necessary. Let it dry.
