How to Decorate Flip Flops With Fleece

Transform plain flip flops into a fluffy pair of shoes that both children and women would want to wear all summer. This basic craft allows you to customize flip flops with colors and patterns that could match any outfit or your other accessories like a purse or belt. Recycle old fleece jackets and shirts or purchase fleece material from a craft or fabric store. You can make fleece flip flops in minimal time, making them a good idea for a last minute gift or shoe choice.

Instructions

Spread out the fabric on a flat surface. Smooth out any wrinkles or folds.

Place a ruler on the fabric's edge. Measure a 6-inch long, 1-inch wide section of fabric and mark it with a pencil.

Cut out the fabric strips with the pinking shears. By using pinking shears, you give the fleece a decorative edging without sewing. You need at least 28 strips per pair of shoes. If you want fluffier shoes, you can add more.

Take one strip of fabric and center it around one of the shoe straps, near the thong. Tie the strip into a knot, pulling the loose ends up. Add more strings, tying them one at a time until the strap is completely covered with fleece.

Work both sides of the straps on both shoes. Finish the project by trimming the ends of the ribbon with the pinking shears. Fluff the fleece with your hands.Try on your shoes.
