How to Alter the Calf Size of a Frye Boot

John Frye was the founder of The Frye Company in 1863, which is one of the oldest shoe companies in America. Frye leather boots are known for their comfort, quality materials and excellent craftsmanship. The Frye Company manufactures leather riding boots which can be stretched for a more comfortable fit. If the calf section of the boot is too small, you can stretch it for a more comfortable fit.

Instructions

Spray the shoe stretch spray onto a clean cloth. Rub the interior boot of the calf section completely.

Take the cloth and rub it on the exterior part of the boot covering the calf section completely. If necessary, use more shoe stretch spray.

Find and wear a pair of old socks. The socks will come into contact with the spray that is on the inside of the boot. Try to wear the boots for an hour or more.

Crumple up and dampen sheets of newspaper. Stuff the newspaper inside the calf section of the boot until snug.

Allow the boots to dry overnight and repeat the process as necessary to achieve a looser fit.
