How to Decorate Your Dress-Up Shoes

The right shoes are an essential part of any dressy outfit. If your dress is elaborate, wear simple heels or sandals. However, if you'd like to put the focus on your accessories, custom-embellishing your dress shoes will add some serious style to your overall look. Get design inspiration from fashion houses, vintage jewelry and your imagination.

Instructions

Lay the newspaper on top of the toe of your dress shoe and cut out a shape big enough to cover the toe. Place the newspaper circle onto the felt. Cut out two copies. The felt circles will form a base for your decor.

Lay the beads, brooches and pearls on the felt to form your design. Using the fishing line, sew the embellishments onto the felt patch. Use the craft epoxy for things such as flat-back plastic gems.

Glue the felt patches to the toes of the shoes or epoxy embellishments directly to the shoe. Let the epoxy dry thoroughly before wearing.
