How to Remove Odor From Ugg Boots

Ugg boots have a sheepskin lining that keeps feet warm from harsh winter conditions but that also traps moisture and grows bacteria. The bacteria causes the boots to smell over time. Moisture-trapping substances like corn starch and odor-trapping substances like baking soda can help slow down the process but eventually an odor will appear. If the boots are worn in hot weather, this can happen especially quickly. Using anti-odor products can help keep them in tip top condition.

Instructions

Pour a quarter of a cup of baking soda into each Ugg boot.

Hold the top of the boot closed and shake to distribute the baking soda in the sheepskin wool. The odor is most likely coming from the bottom of the shoe so it is not essential to get baking soda in the top of the boot.

Let the boots sit overnight and then shake out all of the excess baking soda.

Spray the inside of the boots with a shoe deodorant spray or fabric spray like Febreze. Allow the spray to fully dry.

Put two tablespoons of corn starch in the boots, shake around and shake out the excess.
