How to Make Your Own Flip-Flop Supplies

A staple of the beach every year and a must-have summer fashion accessory, today's flip flops can range in price from just a few dollars to $20-$30 or even higher and come in every possible color, style, and size. Save yourself and your wallet the hassle of shopping for the perfect pair of flip flops by custom designing your very own pair from the comfort of your home following these few easy steps.

Instructions

Trace a pair of flip flops onto a piece of cardboard and then cut out the traces.

Repeat Step 1 using cotton batting.

Apply a thin layer of adhesive on the soles of each of the cardboard cut-outs. Place the cotton batting firmly on top of the cut-outs.

Place the cardboard cut-outs on top of the denim scraps, trace around them, and cut out the traces.

Sew half of the denim cut-outs together forming a pocket. Insert the cardboard and cotton batting cut out into the denim pocket and sew shut.

Cut the inseam of the denim jeans out to create the flip-flop straps. Attach the inseams once in the top middle at the front of the flip-flop and then again further back toward the middle of the flip-flop on the right and left sides in a triangular shape.

Hit the beach! At this point, the flip-flop materials will have been made into a wearable garment.
